National Mentoring Month

Whether you are a student, an emerging professional, or tenured in your career, we can all benefit from the perspectives and feedback that a mentoring relationship provides. The PRSA Cleveland Mentoring program matches members with similar career interests.
Julie Young, Sherwin-Williams vice president of global corporate communications, and Samantha Farland, GNCO, Inc., corporate communications specialist, were matched via the program in July 2024 and have been meeting monthly ever since.
“Julie’s mentorship has been invaluable as I navigate my career journey,” Samantha said. “I’ve leaned on her for advice about internal communications, event planning, media relations, and much more! It’s nice to have a mentor in the PRSA community who cares about my career development and encourages me to put my best foot forward!”
“I was honored to be asked to participate as a mentor in the PRSA mentorship program. The program is another way I can give back through coaching early career PRSA members, providing them guidance and advice on how best to enhance their professional development,” Julie said. “ I believe there is great value in creating an environment where we can share our experiences and offer opportunities to learn from each other, using the knowledge to be more successful. Anytime I can support someone in strengthening their career path is a win for us both.”
