In the two decades since Jocelynn Clemings earned her bachelor’s degree at Miami University, she has worked to build her public relations resume. She has gained experience in leadership roles at the Ohio Department of Transportation, as well as the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency. In early 2019, she began her current role as the manager for communications and special projects in the office of the provost at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU).

Not long before joining the staff at CWRU, Clemings became a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) in Cleveland. She has been a member of the board since January of 2022, holding the title of co-vice president of communications.

“PRSA offers a platform to engage in continuous learning, fosters a supportive community for sharing insights and helps build extensive networks, enhancing careers in public relations,” Clemings, said.  “It's a win-win-win!”

Throughout her career, Clemings has worn the hat of a spokesperson, event planner and executor, budget manager, strategic communicator, website developer, researcher and more. She has covered difficult scenarios on live television and directed crisis communication. When she joined PRSA Cleveland, she was the most excited to collaborate with others in the same field.

“I wanted to join the PRSA Cleveland board to meet and engage with more PR pros,” Clemings said. “I love a network of amazing people I can collaborate with, share insights with and learn from."

Outside of her professional life, Clemings loves to travel alongside her family. She has been to over 30 countries, 28 out of 30 MLB stadiums and 41 U.S. presidents’ gravesites.

“While most of my free time is spent parenting, traveling—and planning to travel—is a close second,” Clemings said. “As the saying goes, ‘I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list.’”
