Meet Bailey Purpura, a Senior Account Executive at Marcus Thomas LLC. She became a member of PRSA in May 2021, but was involved with PRSSA at Kent State University. Purpura greatly appreciates the plethora of resources they provide as well as the connections she has made through its networking events. “Having local and professional support is an amazing asset” that can assist people in taking their careers immensely.

Purpura went into college wanting to study journalism, but ended up being led to public relations due to the branding and creative aspects. She loves that the industry has “such a wide umbrella that encompasses media relations, social media and influencer marketing.” However, social strategy and influencer marketing are what she is most passionate about. She likes helping brands build their audience and share their stories in an innovative and unique way through different social channels and influencers. As Purpura continues to learn and grow in this industry, she hopes to soon lead a team of her own one day.

If Purpura was not in the public relations industry, her dream job would be to be a travel/food blogger. However, it seems like she has been able to accomplish the best of both worlds. In 2018, Purpura and one of her colleagues decided to start an Instagram and Tiktok account called CraveCle. Through these two social channels, the pair showcase and promote Cleveland’s local food scene as a way to gain better content creation skills and share new places with their audience. As CraveCle continues to grow, they want to expand their food focus to events, activities, etc. Their ultimate goal is to “help spread the word about the city we love,” Purpurpa exclaimed. If all this talk about food is making you hungry, the Cleveland food guru recommends IL Rione’s Speck Pizza and Johnny Mango’s Chicken Pad Thai. She also loves trying local coffee shops, and Rising Star has become one of her favorites.

Along with Purpura’s love for public relations and food blogging, she loves dogs! She plans to use her free time this summer to volunteer at City Dogs, an animal shelter in Cleveland.
